Bio
- Applied mathematics researcher, scientific software developer (C++, Python).
- Research associate in computational science at Flexcompute.
- 1-year MS student (Bay State Scholar) studying computer science at UMass Amherst.
- BS mathematics (applied, honors) and BS computer science from UMass Amherst.
I strive to be an inter-disciplinary & multi-talented computer science + math guy. I expound more on this page.
Highlights from my very short career include:
- Scaling previous SOTA in Quantum Approximate Optimization for molecular docking by ~300% through clever combinatorial optimization formulations & algorithm design. This was a joint project between Pfizer R&D and NVIDIA. Preprint on arXiv.
- Developing dynamical models of cell-cell communication for long-range collective migration in fetal nervous systems. This was my undergraduate thesis in Applied Mathematics with the Buttenschoen lab.
- Designing clever convex optimization methods for Fair Machine Learning model training, where traditional optimizer guarantees fail due to complex training objectives. I presented a poster on this at the MassURC 2024.
